Programs & Services

We offer a comprehensive set of SNAP® (Stop Now and Plan) programs and services at no cost. Parental involvement is a necessary component of programming. Free childcare is offered to parents/guardians while they attend group programming and transportation support is available. We offer core programs as well as additional services and supports to girls and their families based on their needs.

SNAP® Girls

The SNAP® Girls Group is a manualized program designed specifically to help girls under twelve years of age who are experiencing behavioural issues at home, school, or in the community. The Girls Groups meet once a week for 13 consecutive weeks. Through both individual and group work, including role-play, the girls learn and practice self-control, problem-solving skills, and how to use SNAP® in difficult situations.

SNAP® Parents

SNAP® Parent Groups is a manualized program that runs concurrently with the SNAP® Girls Groups. Parent/Guardians meet once a week for 13 consecutive weeks to learn self-control and problem-solving skills, as well as effective child management techniques. The group also provides parents with an opportunity to make connections with other parents facing similar challenges.

SNAP® for Schools

We offer SNAP® in the elementary school classrooms of girls in the SNAP® Girls Group to address aggressive behaviours and bullying on a broader level. SNAP® for Schools runs for 13 weeks and covers such topics as anger, joining in and fair play, handling peer pressure and dealing with bullying.
